Wooden Head-joint
Wooden head-joint are worked on mostly on turnstile and drills. This pieces of wood are brought here from Central America, Argentina, Africa, Brasil and southern Chile. They are diverse on its pigmentation, hardness and vein, which gives each one of them its identity and particular esthetic. The raiser piece on wooden head-joints can be part of the body or they can be incorporated as a different silver or golden piece, to taste of the musician.
The Harms Atelier is placed at the city center in Santiago, Chile and performers, students and colleagues come visit almost daily to try head-joints, ask questions and chat. It’s a small and chaotic atelier, as any other. This place has a quiet vibe, distend work rhythm and where workers get the chance to develop great bonding around music and flutes.
